Just wondering if it's possible to disable posting of links until a certain number of posts have been made. This is a .ru bot.. UcoZ web services, and can be reported to them.. but they don't seem to care. This is an old bot.. been around since 2005, which is why I think it's some dickhead kid off Ad causing problems. On the bot site this page is interesting.. there are a list of other bots linking up to share http://bnbe.info/college-cheerleader-sex.html One possible to stop offensive stuff being posted like this is to disable bbc and html by default in certain areas. I don't think the bots can get around that Are we expecting any new members in the next few days?.. If not why not put a block in the disallowed names of * .. that just stops all and every sign up attempt, a real person will get fed up after 10 or so failed account setups for disallowed user name and will probably post asking why everything is blocked in the open area... another weapon in the arsenal against spammers.

OK, I have added the * the the disallowed names list. Also, I don't think I'm able to disable posting links unless its for everyone. Just another little problem with forumer.

Remember that having "*" in the disallowed names stops anybody signing up at all. Effectively it closes membership. I left it on one of my sites (funnily enough which also had links from AD) over christmas.. about a week, and the bots gave up. anybody with a brain will post in the open area asking why they can't join...

Yeah. That's what I'm hoping to accomplish. Forumer should use CAPTCHA pictures at sign up to prevent things like this.
